Nas f/ Goapele @ The Warfield, San Francisco. 11-28-08
Nas, one of my top five's of ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's all I can really say. A bit old (show was on 28th of November), but I finally managed to upload pictures and videos. Saw him at the Warfield Theater in San Francisco. Dude's been rockin' hip-hop since 1992 man. Sixteen years man. It was really dope, had an upper level, bar, balconies, nothin' like I had ever been to. Not only did Goapele open for him, but instead of a DJ, Nas had a live band, which was pretty fucken' dope. Had a couple drinks, stood up in like the fifth or sixth row, blew about three sticks. Damn that shit was fun. One thing that I found pretty interesting was the lobby of the theatre. Looked up on the walls of the lobby and saw photos of Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Marvin Gaye, Jimi Hendrix, all doin' their thing up on the Warfield stage. Pretty dope. Check out the video. Photos courtesy of yours truly.

Nooo!!

All good things come to an end. Even Polaroid film cameras. Earlier this year, Polaroid announced that they will be winding down on the production of these classic cameras. Every Christmas, I go through all our families old photo albums, with 50% of the albums consisting of Polaroid photos. These cameras are classic. Playin' around with one when I was younger didn't mean much. But lookin' back now, it was all a great experience: watching a visual memory form right before your eyes. These things will be gone and off the shelves by the end of the year, but of course, you can always run to eBay. Goodbye, Polaroid. We shared a lot of great memories together.

Ambition.
Today in my information systems class, we had a guest speaker, CIO of Safeway, David Ching, come in and talk to us about careers and internships. CIO is the chief information officer of a corporation. What this guy does is he manages those who work on the information systems that Safeway uses. For example, the point of sale system you see at the checkout lane, or even the big bulky inventory counter that people use to check inventory. A fellow student asked him a question: "What is your biggest pet peeve being CIO?" "I realized that people nowadays are very ambitious. Ambitious in the wrong sense. Now, people are worried about job-title goals, promotional goals, materialistic goals, financial goals, so on and so on. Being ambitious is really all about challenging yourself, stepping out of your comfort zone into a territory that isn't yours, and making it yours. Being ambitious is to never be complacent. Whatever it is that you do, find a way to do it better. Strive; strive to be the best at what you do. But of course you gotta enjoy it all at the same time." Something to think about.
